05 Mar CHC Publishes 2014 Annual Report
March 5, 2015 –
CHC has published our 2014 annual report. This report outlines CHC’s achievements from last year. Some of our most notable accomplishments, which you can read more about in the report, include completing the collection of baseline air samples, stopping a bad pipelines bill from passing the state legislature, building support for the North Fork Alternative Plan, and leading the legislative effort to permanently protect the valley’s public lands.
We anticipated a busy 2015 and it certainly is off to a very quick start! A few weeks ago, the BLM released a draft Environmental Impacts Statement on SG Interests’ proposed 146-gas well Bull Mountain Master Development Plan for the North Fork watershed. Public comments are due on this proposal by April 16th. We are working with our attorneys at the Western Environmental Law Center on the best strategy to pursue for this project, and we will have more information to aid in your letter writing very soon.
On March 29th, we invite you to join us for a free screening of the documentary filmGroundswell Rising at the Paradise in Paonia. This groundbreaking documentary will further inform you about the hazards and risks of drilling and fracking and inspire you to take action. Click here to RSVP and invite friends on Facebook.
As a grassroots conservation group, we get our power from our community. You are the reason we are here, and why we’ve been so successful. Thank you for all that you’ve done to help our efforts, from writing letters to attending public meetings and making donations. We are so appreciative of your support!
