07 Feb Show Up! BLM Public Meeting on Feb. 10th at Paonia High
Updated February 9, 2015 –
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10th from 6 to 8 pm at Paonia High School. This is you opportunity to provide a public comment on the record and ask questions of the BLM about the proposed 146-gas well Bull Mountain Master Development Plan and the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The Master Development Plan also calls for 4 new waste water disposal wells, 4 new compressor stations, and other infrastructure like pipelines and access roads.
BLM previously prepared an Environmental Assessment, but has now done an Environmental Impact Statement on the project. Written public comments are due on April 16th.
We would like to thank our wonderful community who packed The Hive last Friday night for our open house. More than 100 people filled the room to hear the latest updates and our first impressions of the Bull Mountain draft EIS. We have uploaded the PowerPoint presentation from Friday’s open house to our web site. Click here (2.1 MB) to view it along with the notes.
We’d like to send a special note of thanks to Jeff and Tracey Schwartz from Big B’s Organic Juices & Hard Ciders, Brent and Karen Helleckson from Stone Cottage Cellars, and the dozen or so folks who brought snacks and drinks to share. Thank you!
