We envision a day when…

Clean agriculture

Delta County Region’s food, air, and watersheds are no longer threatened by large-scale industrial oil and gas operations

Healthy ecosystem

Ensuring the protection of human health and the environment is the foundation of our state and federal laws

Science-based legislation

Elected officials, agency personnel, and citizens use science as the basis for decision-making

Precautionary principle

Regulatory agencies err on the side of caution and protecting public health by denying a proposed action when scientific uncertainty exists regarding the potential harm of the action

Industry security

One industry is not allowed to supplant another (i.e, invasive gas and oil development does not have the right to ruin agricultural and tourism-based industries)

Our Goal

To prevent the industrialization of the North Fork Valley and Delta County region, we aim to stop new leasing and development, and avoid and minimize impacts of existing or proposed development on existing leases.

Our Focus

We educate our community on oil and gas threats, advocate for the strongest protections, and defend our legal rights.

Empowered Citizenship

We believe in an active and empowered citizenry.

Building Partnerships

We will actively pursue partners that support our goals.

Right to a Clean Environment

Citizens have the right to clean air, soil, and water free from toxins and pollutants.

Transition to Clean Energy

We believe in an energy policy that transitions away from the use of heavily-polluting fossil fuels such as oil and gas, towards clean, renewable forms of energy and increased energy efficiency.

Science-Based Action

We operate with the support of sound science, recognizing the evidence that human activities are causing the climate to change, and that we must do our part to stop and mitigate these changes to protect the quality of life of future generations.

The Precautionary Principle

The Precautionary Principle states that if an action or policy has suspected risk of causing harm to the public or to the environment, in the absence of a scientific consensus that harm would not result, the burden of proof falls on those who advocate taking the action.
