16 Dec Action Alert! BLM and USFS Approve 25 Wells North of Somerset

On December 7, 2015 the BLM and US Forest Service issued their final decision to approve 25 gas wells on 5 wellpads north of Somerset. This final decision allows BLM to move forward with finalization and approval of 10 Application Permits to Drill. For more information see the final Decision Records and EA:

CHC filed an objection with the USFS to the initial approval on October 22, 2015. The USFS ruled against all arguments in their rejection letter dated December 7, 2015.

The official public comment period has ended, and the USFS and BLM have issued their final decision. We are exploring all litigation options to see how we can continue to fight this proposed development. In the meantime, we encourage you to write to Senators Bennet and Gardner, Representative Tipton, County Commissioner Mark Roeber stating your outrage over this decision, and asking them to intervene to protect the North Fork Valley.
