Dear Mr. Shoop,

I am writing to request an extension of the scoping comment period for the Proposed December 7th, 2018 Lease Sale. I am very concerned about the proposed 8,000 acre North Fork Valley Lease Sale being proposed. These leases are being proposed in one of the most geologically unstable areas in the State. The Colbran mudslide was the largest ever to occur in the country. Highway 133 on the Paonia side of McClure Pass already experiences dangerous rock falls and slides, and two of the lease parcels are around Paonia Reservoir. They are also being proposed in our watershed and over the Bowie #2 coal. There are so many issues to consider in this lease sale and 15 days is just simply too short. Not to mention that this came out right before the July 4th holiday, and during the North Fork Valley’s Cherry’s Days Festival. I respectfully request that the comment period on this initial scoping phase of 15 days be extended to 30 days.
