UPDATE!
The public comment period ended on November 1, 2016. BLM received 53,000 comments on the draft RMP, with over 42,000 no-leasing comments submitted to the BLM. The final RMP is expected Fall 2017. Stay Tuned!

The long awaited Draft BLM Uncompahgre Resource Management Plan (RMP) for over 675,000 surface acres and 971, 220 acres of federal subsurface mineral estate within the Uncompahgre Planning Area was officially published on June 3, 2016.
The BLM’s preferred alternative proposes to open 95% of BLM lands and minerals within the planning area to oil and gas leasing. This RMP is the single-most important economic driver, which will dictate the future of Delta County and the North Fork Valley for the next 20 years.
CHC supports a No Oil and Gas Leasing Alternative, as the only way to fully protect the community from harm.
