Join Us for a Community Meeting on Oct. 29

October 10, 2013 –

What’s Happening with Oil & Gas in the North Fork?  Please note: the meeting has been rescheduled for Oct. 29th due to a conflict with the KVNF annual meeting.

Mark your calendars for an important community meeting to learn the latest on the upcoming BLM management plan and efforts to permanently protect the North Fork’s public lands.

We have been working to build support for the community effort, the North Fork Alternative Plan, to ensure strong management protections in the new BLM resource management plan. This summer, the Paonia Town Council sent a letter to both Colorado Senators asking for their help in securing permanent protection for the public lands in the North Fork from the risks of oil and gas development.

The BLM’s draft plan is currently scheduled to be released this fall or winter, for at least 90 days of public comment. We need to show strong and broad support as a community to demonstrate to our Senators and Congressman that they need to act to protect this place. Your help is needed now in this important effort!

Want to find out what you can do to help?

Attend a public meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss to find out how you can help us achieve permanent protection. The meeting is sponsored by Citizens for a Healthy Community and the Western Slope Conservation Center.

RSVP and invite your neighbors and friends on Facebook!
