Recently, concerns have been raised about increased truck traffic along Highway 133, which are due to the fracking of a new well on an existing well pad in the Trail Gulch unit roughly 20 miles outside of Paonia. In particular, many are feeling the impact of frac sand transportation on health, safety, and quality of life. In addition, there is also a logging project taking place up Stevens Gulch Road which is adding to the traffic.
