Event Details

Please join us for the fourth film in the Rural Cinema Series: Heroes of Our Time on December 8thThe fourth film in the 5-part film series is I am GRETA.  We are excited to partner with Working Films and the Can You Hear Us? campaign to bring you this critically important film.

I am GRETA is the story of teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg told through compelling, never-before-seen footage in this intimate documentary from Swedish director Nathan Grossman. Starting with her one-person school strike for climate action outside the Swedish Parliament, Grossman follows Greta – a shy schoolgirl with Asperger’s – in her rise to prominence, and her galvanizing global impact as she sparks school strikes around the world. The film culminates with her astonishing wind powered voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City.

Take Action After the Film!

Youth-led movements have been growing across the globe, expanding to a range of issues from climate change to gun violence to racial inequality. Their voices are loud and clear. They are now looking to the rest of the world to listen, and more importantly, act.

“Can You Hear Us? is an impact campaign created by Exposure Labs and B Reel-Films, and produced by YEA! Impact with the support of a wide coalition of partners, to accompany the release of the I Am Greta documentary and amplify the climate movement. We are proud to partner with the Can You Hear Us? team on building the youth movement in the North Fork Valley and on the Western Slope. Rural youth have a voice and a role in ensuring that we have a stable climate for present and future generations.

There are small ways to make big changes, but it takes collaboration and partnership in communities to tackle the climate crisis. Together we can shift our relationship with the planet to be more regenerative and inclusive for all, and we need everyone to join this movement. Visit www.canyouhearus.org to access additional resources and receive a personalized action guide which includes some CHC actions to protect the North Fork Valley on this site.
