04 Jan Citizens Propose Draft Vision of North Fork Alternative Plan, A Proposal to BLM for Managing Oil and Gas Leasing

In July 2012, Citizens for a Healthy Community partnered with the NFRIA-WSERC Conservation Center and a group of individuals representing organic growers, wineries, ranching, businesses, and conservationists to consider management alternatives that could be proposed to BLM as part of its pending revision to the Uncompahgre Field Office Resource Management Plan.

The purpose of this group is to ensure adequate protections for important resources, activities and features of the North Fork. Click here for an overview of the North Fork Alternative Plan.

We plan to continue our work by reaching out to stakeholder groups and presenting a final version of the North Fork Alternative Plan to BLM and the public in the coming months.
