27 Jan CHC files FOI appeal over BLM’s decision to withhold name(s) of nominating party for leases in North Fork Valley

Citizens for a Healthy Community filed a Freedom of Information appeal with the Bureau of Land Management in response to the agency’s refusal to disclose the name of the party or parties nominating the lease parcels in the North Fork Valley.  CHC filed a FOIA request for the information in December following the announcement of the proposed leases,  but the information received from the agency redacted (blacked out) information concerning the nominating parties.  CHC and its legal counsel, the Western Environmental Law Center, believes this information should be made available to the public and has appealed the BLM’s decision.
